Large beams from Spain to Ghana transported by Kaleido, Ideas & Logistics

Kaleido Logistics, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) network for Spain, recently completed the third out of ten voyages for the transportation of oversized steel beams from Vigo, Spain to Tema, Ghana.

Total volume for this project comprised of:

• 140 beams with different characteristics and length (from 23 meters and 17 tons to 44 meters and 80 tons)
• 36.400 cbm
• Stowed up to two tiers
• 40 containers with miscellaneous equipment

The Ministry of Roads and Highways of Ghana has declared the metallic steel structures as a key milestone for the project of construction of highway bridges in Ghana, Africa.

Kaleido signed responsible for all the logistics of the cargo at Vigo port, including reception at storage area, transport from storage area to alongside vessel, loading operations and also all lashing and securing jobs on board, supplying lashing / welding plan, welders and all materials needed to carry out mentioned jobs. Kaleido was also responsible for the supervision of handling operations in Ghana.
