JSL Global in headlining Qatar project movements

Dec 16, 2015

Art transportation and logistics for Qatar Civil Aviation Authority brings big responsibility. JSL Global (Affiliation of Jassim Customs & Freight Co), recently appointed member for Qatar to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC), handled this prestigious sculpture movement smoothly.

The shipment was moved by airfreight from the USA in two parts - each approx. 27,000Kg from Chicago to Doha Airport. The total volume handled by JSL was 9 pcs @50T. Being a delicate and high value (volume cargo) it needed to be handled with utmost care. The JSL Qatar team was completely on toes from the day they got updated information from the contracted carrier Qatar Airways.

The shipment required to be moved in least parts so JSL Global had to follow up and coordinate with their USA partner for space and freight management etc. The shipment was a challenge because when it was going to be moved, the Doha old airport was shifting to new dedicated area - HIA and required certain approval from Civil Aviation Authority  / HIA. JSL Global had to arrange special trailers for entry into HIA.

Challenging Rolled Steel Plates Project for QATARI EPC Contractor

This movement was from the German MNC Conglomerate Corporation and the final consignee in Doha was a Qatari EPC company engaged in Ashghal (Public Works Authority), Kahramaa (Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation) projects.

The project was awarded to JSL Global considering its expertise in such government projects and handling direct deliveries and mobilising special equipment / flat bed & low bed etc with short notice.

JSL Global is an affiliated Company to Jassim Customs who is having a long established name in Qatar market for professional custom brokerage and destination project logistics services.

The shipment consisted of 2050 tons and 255 CBM cargo – 966 steel plates which were moved on 90-120 flat bed & low bed trailers.

Mr. Nishith Kothari, AGM of JSL Global comments that “clients trust JSL Global for its professional and customised approach and providing complete project logistics consultancy and feasibility before shipment arrival”.

This project was challenging for JSL Global because during that period Doha port was congested and facing transportation issues and unexpected delays in custom clearance. JSL Global managed to clear and transport / offload all cargo at final site as per given schedule without incurring any port storage and trailer detention.
