Worldwide Project Consortium

Chinese project experts Jiangsu Sunshine Int’l Logistics handling difficult moves

Feb 22, 2016

Jiangsu Sunshine Int’l Logistics, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in China, with offices in Jiangsu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, are pleased to report two recent projects which were loaded in the late January and the early February, 2016.

Petrochemical towers

One of the projects contained several petrochemical towers, the biggest one with weight of 571 ton and dimensions of diameter 6 m x length 76 m. The towers were transported from Penglai, Shandong province located in the north of China to Huizhou, Guangdong province located in the south of China.

Service scope included sea freight with loading, lashing and securing. Transporting  the 76 m long tower from the factory to the port and loading onboard  was challenging, especially because it was done during very unpleasant weather conditions with strong winds at the loading port.

The company successfully delivered the cargo before the Chinese New Year holiday and got high appraisal from their client.

Petrochemical furnaces

The other project came with two petrochemical furnaces, weighing around 190 ton each with dimensions of 27.6 m × 12 m and 27.6 m × 12.3 m. The shipment went from Nantong, Jiangsu province to Huizhou, Guangzhou province.

Service scope included sea freight with loading, lashing and securing. There were challenges to overcome: dry season, short window for ro-ro loading with the tide giving just about one hour per day suitable for loading and discharging  at both ends.
