Heavy transformers leave India

Express Global Logistics (EXG), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, handled two 125 MVA transformers at Mumbai Port.

The scope of work included lashing, choking and securing of two 125 MVA transformers along with the accessories was executed by the Mumbai team of Express Global Logistics (EXG). The shipment contained 2 transformers with dimensions of 6.73 x 2.6 x 4.448 meters and weight 87MT each. The total volume of the cargo with accessories was 323 FRT.

Mr. Vinay Kate of EXG Mumbai comments: “The critical operation was unloading of heavy transformer from axle trailers and loading onto the 2 x 40′ mafis using a 150 ton capacity crane. The port handling with lashing, choking and securing was completed within 30 hours.”
